Harvest Moon

Harvest Moon

I combed my fingers
through corn silk hair
picking watermelon
and the breeze
the deep pools
of liquid
as chardonnay.

The grapes hung
on the hills
and the valleys
into shimmering gold
cantaloupe plains.

the pumpkin moon’s
spell I feast
in a canyon sweet
of frangipani
and peppermint.
