After the Debate

After the Debate

They have left the stage
to those that clean
and mop up messes.

In Afghanistan
a man still scars
and tar bleeds poppies.

In Los Angeles
a comic picks fodder
to roast their boast.

In New York City
a late night fare
shares a needle with a cabbie.

The Free Press spins
their spin on spin
to say who won.

They have left the stage
to those that clean
and mop up messes.
