They have left the stage
to those that clean
and mop up messes.
In Afghanistan
a man still scars
and tar bleeds poppies.
In Los Angeles
a comic picks fodder
to roast their boast.
In New York City
a late night fare
shares a needle with a cabbie.
The Free Press spins
their spin on spin
to say who won.
They have left the stage
to those that clean
and mop up messes.

Well said Richard!A very powerful poem. So much said in so few words. Wry and biting!
