The Oracle
On the corner
of Schmid and Oaks
sits the all knowing
crow, conspicuous
in his finest
hat and black robes
glistening
purple and gold. He is
the eyes, ears
and mouth
of Fairview.
The whitetails twitch
in Troyer’s field
and carefully listen, the gophers
sniff and surface
for a quick glance out the back
door. Even the bees
gone loopy drunk on lilac pause
for a snippet
of the latest news.
It’s just a Mennonite’s
tractor pitching gravel
up the road.

Note: We have moved to the Internet Desert. To download or open websites is next to impossible here. Very sorry I have not been able to visit and read the works of those I regularly follow. I have to say that it is an illusion that the world is connected with any meaningful and viable Internet. We are pursuing all means to get connected in a workable way. Until then I don’t have the ability to open your wordpress sites or post but sporadically.
Good to hear from you anyway. We will be glad to see you posts when you can get on to the internet.
