Wild Ballet

Today I was witness
to Baryshnikov and Nureyev
in a wild ballet. Such grace!
Such nerve! Such beautiful leaps
as they chased each other
across the meadow stage.

Such romp and ruckus in joy impromptus
as the troupe regaled! Such antics
and brilliant fair! Grandiose!
zags and zigs, jigs and whirls
of white-tailed deer with their feet in the air.
