My Love From Cotulla
for my wife Mary on her birthday 4/7/17
.
I love the breeze
that brings me kisses
soft lipped and rose scented
all the way from Cotulla, Texas. I love her whisper
and warm sweet breath, I love her tender
evening caress, I love her.
I love the moon
all full and dusted, I love her teasing
demure eye, I love her comfort
and trusting senses, her pleasing glow
in the dark of night.
I love the summer
hot and furious, the long days and open skies.
I love her fragrance and babbling music, her thunder-
clap surprise. I love the breeze,
the moon and summer, where my heart
in love resides.
