On a brief visit to Florida, I decided to be a tourist for a day and make a trip to the Kennedy Space Center. What I discovered there was awe inspiring. The shear enormity and complexity of the Apollo rocket that took our astronauts to the moon had never been fully conceptualized in my mind and heart until I stood next to the behemoth. The amount of courage and discipline it took for those men to sit atop that enormous bomb while strapped into a capsule the size of a Volkswagen Beetle, had no bounds. Continue reading
Mohammad Ali was boxing’s undisputed heavyweight champion of the world, a brilliant tactician in the ring and out. He didn’t fight, he danced and painted his opponents into a corner.
If he didn’t get a knockout in the early rounds, Mohammad didn’t panic, instead he used his imagination and did things like the Ali shuffle and the rope-a-dope to confuse and outwit his opponents. Continue reading
